Honeyman Farms - Homer Glen, IL

Honeyman Farms is a 23 acre former horse farm in rural Homer Glen, Illinois that is being gradually renovated back to agriculture. Our campus is home to Distant Horizon Internet, Honeyman Seed, Liberty Light Bulb and PaulSupply.com.

This property was owned in the 1970's by Robert Buddig, owner of Carl Buddig Meats as a horse farm...racing horses. The one mile oval race track is still apparent from an aerial view of the property. It is said that Mr. Buddig once said that "if he could win just one race, his life would be complete." According to an elderly neighbor, he did win a race...and that shortly thereafter he died in his sleep in the farm's house.

After Robert Buddig passed away, the property was acquired by Palos Community Hospital and converted to an immediate care clinic for about 20 years. As the development of Homer Glen and Will County centered on an area further east, PCH eventually decided to make the property available for another use.

In 2010 Distant Horizon began renovating the farm to ease the historic property back into agriculture. The farm house was repainted yellow and white, the barn was repainted red and display gardens and landscaping are constantly under construction. Our trademark is our Honeyman Zinnias, about 50,000 of them in bloom during the summer.
